Devil in the Details: Effectively Researching and Interpreting Data for Journalists

Today’s journalists must make informed judgments in high-pressure and time-sensitive environments. Making the right call requires sharp skills in data analysis and interpretation.

“Devil in the Details” includes two workshops focusing on data collection techniques and source assessment, and delves into the nuances of data visualization and trend analysis. These interactive workshops are designed to improve participants’ abilities to effectively select and interpret key data elements for consistent analytical performance.

 

 

Training Objectives: 

After completing the workshops, participants will be able to use the Five-Step Structured Analysis Method, make informed judgments under extremely tight deadlines, and effectively present complicated data visually.
