Incident Summary:

06/06/2011: On Monday night, in Zinjibar, Abyan, Yemen, suspected Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) militants attacked a military position, killing nine soldiers, six militants, and injuring dozens more. Heavy machine guns, artilleries, and mortar shells were used in the attack by both sides. The attack caused an unknown amount of property damage and no group claimed responsibility, although AQAP is suspected.
