Incident Summary:

12/30/2012: Assailants on motorcycles opened fire on the vehicle of Maulana Khalil in the Jamshed Town area of Karachi city, Sindh province, Pakistan. Khalil, the Imam of the Alamgir Masjid Mosque and former leader of the defunct Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) party, was killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities stated that the incident was a targeted sectarian killing.
