START Investigator Provides Key Oversight for Cost/Benefit Analysis of FEMA-funded Mitigation

START Investigator Dennis Mileti, is a member of the Multihazard Mitigation Council Board. The council has issued a major report regarding projects funded by FEMA for hazards mitigation. It concludes that these FEMA projects are cost/benefit effective- every dollar spent on mitigation saves society an average of $4.
