Dr. Amy Pate, START's executive director and research director, spoke with a delegation of State Department International Visitor Leadership Program participants from the Near East and North Africa. Pate discussed START's research into countering violent extremism, as well as educational and training programming designed to build community resilience. Pate also briefed the delegation on studies of radicalization, deradicalization and rehabilitation. The visit was arranged by the World Trade Center Institutes’s Professional Exchanges Program.
