START Partner Center for Biosecurity Launches
The Center for Biosecurity at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has launched an initiative to prepare cities in the United States for how to respond to the detonation of a nuclear device in the country.
The "Rad Resilient City" effort provides city leaders with a checklist of actionable steps that need to be taken to protect citizens from the potential of nuclear fallout, as well as an implementation workbook.
The effort is led by START-affiliated researcher Monica Schoch-Spana.
Rad Resilient City materials and background are available at the project website.
