| The Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PSF) is a relatively small member of the Palestinian terrorist scene. Originally founded as an ideological splinter group of al-Fatah, the PSF has re-joined and then split from al-Fatah and the PLO many times since its inception in 1967. The PSF's original leaders were Dr. Samir Ghosheh (Ghawshah) and Bahjat Abu Gharbiah, who founded the group in the West Bank before the 1967 war.

| Although it has not initiated a significant terrorist attack since 1989, the PSF is reported to have moved its base of operations back to the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. Its presence and support in the Occupied Territories, however, remains minimal. In 1999 Syrian leaders claimed to have told a number of Palestinian terrorist groups, including the PSF, to "get used to confining their role to a political one," although U.S. officials said that they had no independent confirmation of this claim.
