| International Solidarity is a small terrorist organization based in Italy and is considered to be one of the numerous anarchist groups operating in the country. These groups often profess philosophies more specific than general anarchy. However, due to the often random nature of their attacks and the apparent lack of any strategic plan to achieve any of their other self-professed goals, these Italian groups essentially promote nothing more than anarchy. Aside from anarchy, International Solidarity has often claimed its attacks along with a support for prisoners, primarily those in Italy and Spain. The group has timed its attacks to coincide with prisoners' strikes and the observation day of the Christian patron saint of prison warders. International Solidarity has expressed anti-clerical views in their attacks and letters. Although the group is based in Italy, it often protests against the Spanish FIES prison system as unreasonably harsh. Several Italian anarchist terrorists have been imprisoned in FIES for years, which offers further proof that International Solidarity is aiming its attacks at gaining the release of fellow anarchist terrorists rather than any larger, loftier human-rights/prisoner rights goal. |

| At least since 2000, Italian security officials have noted that International Solidarity was attempting to build alliances with other domestic and international terrorist groups. While these alliances predictably include the other anarchist terrorists within Italy, it also includes Marxist-Leninist groups, such as the New Red Brigades. These affiliations suggest a lack of rigid principles within both sets of groups. Furthermore, this lack of clear ideological commitment demonstrates that the primary goal of both the Italian anarchists and Marxists is nothing more than murder and destruction.
