START Briefs House Homeland Security Committee

START was invited to brief members of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security.*

The discussion explored dynamics related to both domestic and transnational terrorism, looking at trends in terrorist behaviors and the nature and methods of terrorist recruitment.

The briefing involved four researchers:

Each participant discussed aspects of their ongoing START research with members of the committee. *The House Committee on Homeland Security is focused on developing new ideas and policies to ensure and strengthen the security of the United States. Chaired by Representative Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, the committee conducts work related to infrastructure protection, border and port security, and preparedness and response for disaster events, including terrorist attacks.
