WG1: Terrorist Group Formation and RecruitmentGo to WG1:Terrorist Group Formation and Recruitment

Investigator:

Shawn Flanigan

Qualitative, comparative case studies of the role of three groups (one in the Middle East, one in Asia, and one in the United States), with a focus on how the recipients of services interact with and perceive the radical groups providing services. The systematic case studies will involve both structured interviews and surveys. Given a sufficient number of survey participants, a quantitative analysis of the relationship between service providers, support for violent groups, and individual participation in violent activities will also be conducted.
