Incident Summary:

6/30/1970: Two policemen, Robert M. Perry and Robert G. Beck, were shot by snipers in Plainfield, New Jersey, United States after responding to a fire at a vacant shop. Officer Perry eventually died from his injuries. City officials believed that black nationalists intentionally set the fire to lure the policemen into the area. Firefighters fighting the blaze were also shot at.
