6/20/1998: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, detonated a bomb targeting the Hassi R'mel-Algiers gas pipeline at a spot near Sidi Ameur, Algeria. The pipeline sustained heavy damaged and the gas supply to three nearby cities was temporarily cut off.
