Incident Summary:

10/29/1998: Eight unidentified gunmen killed one Abkhazian policeman and seriously wounded another in an attack on a police patrol car in Abkhazia, Georgia. The Abkhazian Interior Ministry placed responsibility for the act on "Georgia's authorities" and "power structures" who violated earlier cease-fire agreements in the security zone of the Gali District.
