11/29/1998: The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was responsible for attacking a Turkish helicopter in an unspecified region in Turkey. Sixteen soldiers were killed, one injured, and one was missing. The attackers used firearms to bring the helicopter down. The PKK claimed responsibility for the crash in a statement carried by the pro-PKK agency, DEM.
