Incident Summary:

01/23/1999: The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were accused of bombing an electricity transformer unit on Wasala Road in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This was one of three units that were attacked as part of a campaign to disrupt normal life in various parts of the country. The blasts occurred along Wasala Road, Gintupitiya Street, and Sangamitta Mawatha. Police reports indicated that the attacker used improvised explosive devices that were triggered by a timer.
