Incident Summary:

08/28/1999: A large explosion went off in the City Center in Sana'a, Yemen, setting the city's largest shopping center on fire. Officials insisted that the bombing was a ''criminal act,'' while the police said there was no evidence that the explosion was a terrorist act with political motivations. However, the Adan Abyan Islamic Army (AAIA) claimed credit for this attack. Two people were killed and twelve others were injured in the explosion.
