Incident Summary:

09/26/1999: In Pastoon, India, unidentified perpetrators attempted to assassinate Peerzada Abdul Hamid, the Janata Dal (JD) candidate for the Anantnag parliamentary constituency, by blowing up his escort vehicle with a landmine. Eight Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were seriously were injured in the attack.
