Incident Summary:

02/26/2000: Shantha Premaratne, Deputy Minister of Plan Implementation and Parliamentary Affairs, was injured when two unidentified people lobbed two hand grenades at him at the Mihintale temple in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. No one claimed responsibility for the attack however the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was suspected.
