Incident Summary:

2/1/2001: Suspected members of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) attacked a village approximately 10 kilometers outside of the provincial capital of Uige, Uige province, Angola. The assailants then lobbed several mortars at Uige from their village vantage point. At least five people were killed and 38 were injured in the attack. An unknown number of youth were abducted and civilian property was looted.
