Incident Summary:

07/17/2001: Karim Yuldashev, foreign affairs advisor to the Tajik president, was gunned down outside his home by three men using silenced pistols. He was shot in the head and chest and died shortly thereafter. No one claimed responsibility for the assassination, but officials suspected Islamic militants were behind the attack.
