10/10/2001: An unidentified gunman shot and killed Luc Ethier, a Canadian engineer, and wounded his wife in Fahaheel, Al Ahmadi Governorate, Kuwait. The gunman fled after the attack, shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest). Ethier worked at the United States Ahmad al-Jaber air force base in Kuwait. No group claimed responsibility for the incident and specific motive is unknown.
