10/17/2001: Israeli Tourism Minister Rehav’am Ze’evi was assassinated in his room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Jerusalem, Israel. He was shot three times with a pistol using a silencer. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) claimed responsibility for the assassination.
