Incident Summary:

02/25/2002: Two Palestinians attacked civilians and police officers at a bus stop in the Jewish settlement district of Neve Yaakov in East Jerusalem, wounding nine people. Three of the wounded were policemen, who were injured when they traded fire with the perpetrators, one of whom, Rami Nu, was killed while the other escaped. The Al Aqsa Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack.

Additional Information A telephone call was made to the Associated Press after the incident claiming that the Al Aqsa Brigade was responsible for the attack. The group also sent a statement to the AFP saying: "Our fighters carried out an attack with automatic fire against a group of militia in Northern Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine, near station 25 in the Neve Yaakov neighbourhood."
