Incident Summary:

4/3/2002: Suspected members of United Self Defense Units of Colombia (AUC) kidnapped a union leader near Santa Barbara, Nariño Department, Colombia. Paramilitaries set up an illegal checkpoint on the road between Santa Barbara and Monte Bello; they abducted Alfredo Zapata from a bus of cement factory employees. His body was found on April 4, 2002.
