Incident Summary:

03/22/2002: Suspected militants threw grenades into a busy marketplace that wounded about thirty-five civilians. That attack occurred in Shopiyan, India, approximately thirty miles south of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu-Kashmir state. No one claimed responsibility for the attack, but local police and Jammu-Kashmir officials blamed Islamic extremists.
