4/28/2002: An improvised explosive device detonated at a busy outdoor market in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia province, Russia. Seven people were killed in the explosion and 36 were injured; the death toll rose to nine in the day following the incident. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack and the motive is unknown.
