5/31/2002: A bomb exploded outside of the palace of the governor of Kandahar, Gul Agha, in Kandahar city, Afghanistan. One person was injured in the explosion and the area suffered minor damage. No group claimed responsibility for the incident and motive is unknown; however, authorities suspect the attack was intended to disrupt the selection of provincial delegates for the national grand council.
