Incident Summary:

08/06/2002: Militant assaulted with bombs and firearms a camp of Amarnath Yarta (Hindu pilgrimage) pilgrims at Nanwan in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In the attack, eight pilgrims were killed and about twenty others injured. One of the perpetrators was also killed in the retaliatory fires by the security forces. This attack was reportedly carried out by the Lashkari-i-Taiyibah militants.
