Incident Summary:

10/12/2002: A bomb left in a bag Paddy's Bar in Kuta, Bali exploded, blowing out shop windows up to 500 yards away. At the time of this attack another bomb exploded in a van that was parked outside of the Sari Club, opposite Paddy's. 202 people were killed and 300 estimated injured from the simultaneous attacks. Nearly three-quarters of the victims were foreigners and most were in the crowded bars in the Bali district. The explosion was blamed on the Jemaah Islamiyah, but al-Qaida claimed credit for the attack.
