2/25/2003: Suspected members of the Taliban shot and killed Habibullah Jan, a senior government official, as he was leaving a mosque in Dilaram, Nimroz province, Afghanistan. Authorities suspect that the Taliban is involved, due to their recent activities in the province; they believe that the assailants were sending a message not to cooperate with the government. Twelve people were taken into custody.
