Incident Summary:

05/27/2003: Gunmen opened fire on American troops at a checkpoint in Fallujah, Iraq, killing two U.S. soldiers and wounding nine others. U.S. troops returned fire, killing two attackers and capturing six Iraqis for questioning. The attackers used grenades and small arms in the attack. The U.S. soldiers killed or wounded were from the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
