Incident Summary:

06/21/2003: About 10 suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) shot and killed the mayor of Tayug, Guerrero Zaragosa, in the Philippines. The attackers ambushed the mayor as he was leave a cockfighting venue. Two of Zaragosa’s bodyguards were wounded in the shooting as well. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
