Incident Summary:

08/20/2003: Suspected members of the Taliban burned down The Abu Sofian school located in Afghanistan’s Logar Province. The school, which was housed in a tent, had enrolled 250 female students. Local authorities had found pro-Taliban fliers being passed out in the region where the school was located opposing schools with female students. The fliers also threatened all people who cooperated with the US-backed Afghan government. However, no group claimed responsibility for the arson attack.
