Incident Summary:

1/31/2004: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, abducted an Algerian civilian near Aaloucha, Algeria. The assailants killed the kidnapped victim and booby-trapped his body with an explosive device. The bomb detonated when Algerian soldiers attempted to recover the corpse. One soldier was killed and ten others were wounded by the blast.
