Incident Summary:

04/04/2004: Assailants opened fire on a Combined Joint Task Force 7 patrol in Sadr City neighborhood, Baghdad, Iraq. At least eight United States soldiers were killed and more than 60 United States soldiers were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Mahdi Army.
