Incident Summary:

05/29/2004: Islamic militants attacked oil company compounds in Al-Khubar, Saudi Arabia, killing 22 civilians of various nationalities and wounding at least 25 others during the incident. The perpetrators held about 50 hostages for 22 hours until the Saudi security forces attacked and freed the hostages. An emailed statement signed by Al-Qaida in the Arabian Penninsula (AQAP) claimed responsibility for the attack, which reportedly targeted facilities affiliated to the U.S. occupation company Halliburton.
