Incident Summary:

06/30/2004: Suspected Muslim rebels shot dead a Muslim student and in a separate grenade attack injured nine people in Indian Kashmir. Five civilians and four Indian paramilitary troopers were injured in a grenade attack by rebels in the heart of the summer capital Srinagar. The grenade was hurled at a paramilitary patrol but splinters also hit late evening pedestrians. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
