Incident Summary:

7/29/2004: Two Turkish nationals were kidnapped in the vicinity of Mosul, Ninawa governorate, Iraq. The two civilians worked for Bilintur catering company, which was subcontracted out to provide services to U.S. soldiers. On August 2, 2004, members of the Tawhid and Jihad released a video showing the assassination of one of the captives. Before being shot in the head, the victim read a statement urging Turkish companies to leave Iraq. The fate of the other captive is unknown.
