Incident Summary:

02/14/2005: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near the motorcade of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri killing the former leader and 21 others in his group. The bomb left a 30 foot crater in the street and demolished a nearby building while injuring 220 people. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Unit 121 of Hezbollah. Salim Jamil Ayyash was convicted in absentia on August 18, 2020 for his particpation in this incident.
