Incident Summary:

03/16/2006: Perpetrators posed as police officers and soldiers and set up a barricade near Zahedan, Sistan va Baluchestan, Iran. They stopped cars and attacked the vehicle occupants. Overall, 22 government officials were killed, the governor of Zahedan, his deputy, and five of his other officials were wounded, and many vehicles were damaged. In addition, seven other poeple were kidnapped, but by November of 2006, all of the hostages were released. Jundullah claimed responsibility for this attack.
