Incident Summary:

04/25/2006: In Manikonta village, Dantewara, Chhattisgarh, India, perpetrators killed 15 civilians, and then placed an improvised explosive device (IED) in the pile of dead bodies, and detonated it when police enforcement arrived. They also took 37 others hostage. No claim of responsibility was reported, but it was believed that the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-M) was responsible.
