12/13/2006: Four foreigners - three Italians and a Lebanese- were kidnapped on December 7 during an attack on an installation belonging to Italy's Agip company in the volatile oil-rich Niger delta region. One of the hostages reports that they are in good condition. The Fighters of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) claimed responsibility for the incident.
