Incident Summary:

01/27/2007: A prominent Iraqi politician was kidnapped and executed in the western city of Ramadi, Iraq. Saied Hussein al-Alwani, a council member, was abducted by insurgent group, al-Qaida in Iraq and was discarded a short time later with shotgun wounds to the head. On the insurgent’s website, the group claimed the al-Alwani was to pro-American.
