Incident Summary:

03/02/2007: A group of 14 Iraqi government workers and soldiers was kidnapped by The Islamic State of Iraq, a Sunni group linked to Al-Qaida in response to the alleged rape of a Shi i woman named Sabrin Al-Janabi by Iraqi police on February 18, 2007. The Iraqi government was given a 24 hour deadline to meet the group's demand of handing over the officers accused in the rape case. Hours later, 14 bodies were found.
