04/11/2007: Assailants wielding unspecified firearms attacked a market and seven villages near Shamal, Sudan,, killing 40 civillians and wounding 25 more. The market sustained damage as did all seven villages. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed to be the actions of the Janjaweed Militia.
