Incident Summary:

06/26/2007: Three men were detained in the vicinity of Colombo, Sri Lanka, including A. Balasunderam, an assistant commissioner of the local government in northern Kilinochchi. The official had transported a 20 kg claymore mine from Kilinochchi concealed in the gas tank of his vehicle. Local citizens informed the police when they saw three men trying to replace the gas tank. According to sources, "the military said the 20-kg Claymore bomb was meant to cause destruction in the capital."
