Incident Summary:

07/30/2007: Five policemen were killed and one was injured as three of their colleagues opened fire on them in Khashrod district of Afghanistan's western Nimroz Province. An official claimed the policemen were paid money by the Taliban to turn on their fellow officers. The attackers escaped with a vehicle and the police commander as a hostage. The three attackers were caught and killed in a gun battle and the commander escaped unharmed. The Taliban did not claim responsibility for the incident.
