Incident Summary:

11/23/2007: Youssef al-Hayali, a school guard, and his wife were beheaded in front of their children by militants who claimed that the two were guilty of not following Islamic law. Police suspected that members of Al-Qaida in Iraq were to blame for the murders that took place in Jalawla, a town in Iraq’s Diyala Governorate.
