07/04/2008: On Friday night at 00:30, 50 people were injured when a home-made bomb exploded at the Hero City memorial, a World War II monument, in central Minsk, Minsk state, Belarus, where thousands of people had gathered for the Independence Day concert. Two Belarusian opposition activists were detained by police following the blast. No claim of responsibility was made for the incident.
