11/03/2008: On Monday, unknown gunmen abducted the manager of the Omoku branch of a New Generation Bank, from his home in Eagle Island, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. According to police, the kidnappers approached the residence of Mr. Patrick Akorojola through a nearby creek, which they also used to escape by. No claim of responsibility or ransom demand had been made and the status of the hostage is unknown.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
